Pay Rises, Morale Falls

I found out today that after 3 years of getting NOTHING off this company that we will finally be getting out cost of living increased in January as well as 1 extra days holiday.

This was fantastic.  Over the past 3 years i’ve only had 1 pay rise and we get little to nothing in the form of “perks” for the job.  No staff nights out, absolutely nothing we haven’t pay for ourselves.

I think working in the constuction industry, one of the hardest hit out of the recession, it was really hard to stay with the company and rely on things eventually picking up.  And we’re not out of the fire yet - the company is still making a lot less profit that it used to.

I think it’s a really good thing that they’ve finally done something to show us that our hard work and commitment is appreciated.  With the severe absense of any perks most people became a bit bitter that we get nothing back.  Barely even any recognition for our work most of the time.

Now that i’ve posted it on Twitter and Facebook and my friends i’ve spoken to about it, as obviously I was happy about it, most people seem to have a negative outlook on their own jobs now because on a whole most people aren’t getting them.

Even though i think that everyone in our company deserves this, i can’t help but feel bad that others aren’t getting it.

Karma’s a Bitch

I’ve always been a strong believer in karma and that when bad things inevitably take a turn for the worst, it’s usually my own fault for being a cunt somewhere along the line.

So next time you find yourself down and low and all “wo est me” - maybe you should think it’s your own fault for being such a nasty bitch to someone else.

I’ve realized that you have to love yourself before someone else will love you - so chin up, stop fucking moaning and the good things you deserve will come to you.

The world isn’t against you sometimes - it’s just getting you back so you’ve just got to roll with it and remember that.
